A Royal Marriage by Rachelle McCalla ~ Review

A Royal Marriage
Lucie's Review: A Medieval Romance set during the time of Charlemagne.

Gisela is the daughter of Charlemagne, and King John is the ruler of  the fictional  kingdom of Lydia. Gisela falls ill and John is determined to heal her. John and Gisela must fight their growing attraction because of Gisela's engagement to a man she's never met. Will Gisela and John be able to save John's kingdom and their love?

This wasn't my usual read, and is very different from your typical Love Inspired Historical, as it was Medieval and felt more unlikely.
Both of the characters conducted themselves very honorably and knew all the reasons they shouldn'tbe together, and they put their engery into helping each other through the trial before them.

John and Gisela interacted well, and I liked how there was alot of action and conspiracy going on in the backround, and there was a rich backstory.

Overall, this was a nice story for those who like fairy-tale-like Medieval stories, it wasn't really my style, but I thought that the characters dealt very well with their situation with utmost honor. A fun Medieval read.

I received this ebook from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
