Someone Like You by Victoria Bylin ~ Review

Someone Like You
Lucie's Review:

Julia Dare is starting out fresh.  She's left behind a bad relationship, and begun and new one with Jesus, she's starting her own business, and is ready to reach for the stars!

Julia runs into an old college friend, Zeke Monroe, at Caliente Springs, a resort in needs of a wedding coordinator. Zeke offers Julia the job, and it comes with it's perks, but Julia has but a mere month to throw together a stunning wedding for an important client.

Will Julia be up to the challenge, even when faces from the past taunt her?

I loved Zeke and Julia's friends and family, like George Travers, a famous Country Music Star, who has made his share of mistakes in his life, but through his faith, he has turned his life around. George is a good friend and mentor of sorts to Zeke, and he encourages him to lean on God's grace.

Ellen Dare, Julia's mother, is a strong woman of faith, and is a Godsend to Julia and her young son, Max. I loved her care for Max, and how she encourages Julia, and let's her know that her dreams of bettering her and Max's lives are worth it.

There are moments of humor as well in this book, and several involving a certain goat by the name of Ladybug.

Overall, a wonderful read, engaging, and fast paced, I loved all the many characters, and how it not only explores Zeke and Julia, but George and Ellen as well. I admired Julia for her strength, wisdom and determination. Highly recommend this utterly enjoyable story.

I enjoyed the interaction between Julia and Zeke and how they got to know each other again, and discover how much the other has grown and changed through the years. I liked Zeke, he is a good man and he cares about his employees. He struggles with coming to terms with how he was in college, and wants something better. Julia is serious about turning her life around, an living her faith. She is gifted with a strong sense of motivation and a listening ear, and I admired her strong love for her son.
