Punderdome Game by Jo and Fred Firestone ~ Game Review

Punderdome: A Card Game for Pun LoversMy Review:

A game fashioned after the classic game show of the same name--which to be honest I had never heard of before this card game.

Two different colored cards are drawn, one is a action, and the other is more of a noun. And these two prompts must be used to construct the pun, and the person or team who is the first to have 10 pun matches wins.

As a pun lover myself I found myself challenged by the game, and I appreciated the fun scenarios that were presented. It is a clean, but witty game, but beware, if your fellow players hate puns...you may make some enemies.

The biggest challenge for me was to find people who actually wanted to play this game with me. Because believe it or not there are people who absolutely hate puns, with a passion. So unless you want to make some friends into enemies try to stay clear of pun haters with this game.

It takes a while to get the swing of the game, and we changed some of the rules to make the prizes simpler. Honestly, it's the people who play the game with you that make the game, and if you are blessed with pun loving friends this is perfect. But if you are more like myself--not quite so blessed with pun loving friends, this game will likely not see the light of day again for some time.

Overall, I'd have to say that this is definitely more of a niche game, so if you are the targeted demographic then this is a dream come true. But if this isn't your thing, or it is your kind of thing but you don't have anyone else to play with this might fall a bit flat. Would make a great gift for the pun lover in your life.
