The Hurry-Up Exit From Egypt by Gary Bower illustrated by Barbara Chotiner ~ Review

The Hurry-Up Exit from Egypt
My Review:

A rhyming and rhythmic telling of the Israelite's flight from Egypt and through the Red Sea.

This book was so much fun, and is even more fun to read aloud because of the tongue twister like rhythmic rhymes that flow into a syncopated beat. The unique flow of this adding and repeating poem, really is perfect for this book because it builds and adds urgency to the flight. I found myself reading it aloud faster and faster, getting delightfully tongue-tied on the tricky rhyming syllables.

The illustrations are creative and visually textured, the whimsical lettering and emphasized font makes the narrative really pop and hum with an added punch to the rhythm.

Overall, a fun, fasted paced, and almost musical read. An utter delight to share aloud with the young people in your life. I absolutely loved every minute of this fresh, upbeat read!
