Explosive Situation by Terri Reed ~ Review

Lucie's Review:

Detective Henry Rourke has been sidelined by an excessive force claim, and he's determined to prove his innocence and get back to work with his bomb sniffing K-9, Cody. Henry has a strong work ethic, and being a paperpusher just isn't for him, I liked that he wants to do what's right and keep others safe, and he has faith that the truth will get out.

Olivia Vance is the Internal Affairs agent sent to investigate his case, but when a bomb threatens, Henry and Cody are the best ones for the job. Olivia is healing from scars of her own, she's been through a lot, and has much more to figure out. I admired her for her strength in the face of hard times, carrying on with her duties, and learning to trust even more in God's plan.

Fast paced and fraught with danger, this is a tight read that had me guessing on how the author would make the situations play out. I liked how Henry is very close to his sister, and can be overprotective of her. He is a great detective, he and his dog make a great team. There was a great balance of action and relationship building. as well as faith. I especially liked Olivia's family. A satisfying read from beginning to end!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
