Hidden Peril by Irene Hannon ~ Review

Lucie's Review:

As children Kristin Dane and her best friends promised years ago to make the world a better place, now the owner of a fair trade store, Kristin is doing just that. She meets Detective Luke Carter at Trish and Colin's wedding. When her assistant is murdered, and a customer is also found dead, Luke is assigned to her case.

The investigation leads them to Syria, and matters of national security.

Intense and full of action, this is a book that is hard to put down. Luke is a widower, not looking to find love again. But as he and Kristin work on the case he finds himself drawn to her.

Kristin is determined to get to the bottom of the crimes connected to her fair trade shop. Her faith is strong, and she loves her job, making a living helping others. I loved her friendship with Jack and Colin, they are like protective brothers, and love to tease Luke about her, while also welcoming him into their group.

This book had a good balance of action, suspense, and great character building, it was fast paced, yet the characters were so well developed. The stakes were high and it had me on the edge of my seat, guessing until the end. Highly recommend for fans of mystery, and high stakes action and suspense!
