A daring quest to save a life.
Two hearts at risk.
Torvald returns home to save his family's estate with a marriage of convenience, promising himself that he will never lose his heart. But when he meets the pure hearted woman who is to be his bride, will he change his mind?
The Arthurian re-telling continues in this romantic tale of sacrifice, forgiveness, and the freedom found in love. Torvald is an honorable knight, known for his integrity, he will do his duty, but can promise no more. His harden exterior hides a passionate soul, and I liked that he didn't want to make promises that he couldn't keep or give Karina false hope. Karina is a beautiful young woman, devoted to God, and willing to do her duty. I admired her determination to keep trying to win Torvald despite his reception of her being initially cold.
Overall, a Medieval romance inspired by the legends of King Arthur, filled with romance, adventure and faith. A wonderful series, with compelling characters, virtuous maidens and daring knights. Perfect for fans of marriage of convenience romances, fairy-tale fantasy ret-tellings.
