Counter Attack by Patricia Bradley // Review

Lucie's Review:

Alexis Stone returns to her hometown to serve as chief deputy sheriff on her way to a police chief position in Chattanooga, what is supposed to be a short pit stop becomes much more when a serial killer strikes, leading them on a psychological chase.

Alexis is a driven young woman, very goal oriented workaholic, and devoted to her job. Coming home also means facing a former high school flame, Nathan Landry, who wants to help keep her safe and bring the killer to justice.

A fast paced read, and great start to a new series. I liked the interaction between her and Nathan, Nathan is a great guy and he has her best interests in mind. Her grandparents are also great people, admirable and wonderful Christian people. I didn't particularly like following the bad guy though, as they were super creepy.

Overall, this was a quick read, though some of the twists I saw coming, there is a lot going on. I didn't like knowing things before Alexis and Nathan, as I'm just someone who doesn't like seeing people walking into something bad, but that is more of a personal preference. An action packed start to a new series!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
