My Review:
A large-scale undertaking with resoundingly powerful results. For the first time ever see a Jesus film made by the deaf for the deaf, entirely in ASL with a whole cast of deaf actors to bring this magnificent story to the big screen in a way never before seen!
I loved how everything about this film was oriented towards the deaf, with no audible dialogue, though hearing audiences will hear drama enhancing music, nature sounds, as well as the signing. I grew up in a church that had a very large deaf ministry that my family was a part of, and it was so amazing to see this film, and how much care was put into making it. I also am excited to share this film with my friend who works as an ASL interpreter, as I know she will want to share this with some of her clients and the people she works with!
A powerful film about the greatest story ever told--because it's true! A talented cast give life to this film, that runs 2hrs and 20 mins in length. It does a good job of showing the afflictions faced by those who Jesus healed, their pain and their rejoicing. The film doesn't shy away from the more graphic scenes, so take that into consideration when deciding if this is something your children should see.
A well-done film that will surely be a powerful tool in spreading the gospel for years to come!
