When Rosemont Abbey burns down, people are quick to point fingers at Louisa's twin brother, Paul, who has suddenly disappeared. She knows that something is terribly wrong, and she is determined to prove that her brother wasn't at fault, but what terrible secrets will she and Inspector Malcom Sinclair uncover in pursuit of the truth.
A little slow to start, as the pieces fall into place and we get to know the full cast of characters. Malcom and Louisa begin at odds with each other, not quite trusting each other, with tension that becomes banter. Great for fans of BBC dramas, with building storytelling, that makes for excellent reader payoff.
Well-developed characters, great relationship building, and a suspenseful plot. Satisfying read, great atmospheric world building, and a wonderful tension throughout. Very enjoyable read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
