The Wings of Poppy Pendleton by Melanie Dobson // Review

 My Review:

A mystery spanning decades. A missing child and a vacant castle.

Candy shop owner Chloe Ridell offers refuge to a child that she finds on her doorstep, the little girl's presence opens up questions of another missing girl decades before.

A riveting split time novel, full of intrigue and mystery that had be guessing and holding my breath for each new reveal of information. The story is told from multiple POVs, and each you know is connected you just don't know how. It is a compelling tale of intrigue and betrayal, family ties and new beginnings. I liked that difficult topics and choices were dealt with, but it was hard to the see the innocent suffer the consequences for things that were done by those who were supposed to care for them.

Masterfully told story that had me hanging on every word, and loathe to put it down. Seamlessly blends the past and present into a riveting story of love, loss, and family.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
