Spurgeon Commentary: Galatians by C. H. Spurgeon, edited by Elliot Ritzema

My Review:

A straightforward and in depth commentary by one of the champions of the faith, Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

This was my first time reading a Spurgeon commentary, and I was happily surprised to see how timeless and relatively easy to understand it was. Spurgeon takes us through Paul's letter to the Galatians, providing context, history, and insight along the way. I liked how the verses were examined bit by bit, breaking apart sentences, and then as a chunk, with illustrations and then application.

Well written and thoughtful commentary, it is easy to see why Spurgeon's sermons are still revered today. Compiled in a non-threatening, and accessible edition less than 175 pages.

I enjoyed learning more about the history as it applied, as well as more about Paul and his relationship with the Galatian people. Overall, a wonderful addition to your library, that you will come back to again and again.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
