Trouble in Store by Carol Cox ~ Review

Trouble in StoreMy Review: An entertaining read from beginning to end!

Melanie is a governess with nowhere to go when her latest clients fire her after an unfortunate incident. Melanie remembers her beloved uncle's letter promising her that she's always have a job and home with him in Arizona, helping him run his general store, but when she arrives she finds that both her uncle and his business partner have passed away, and a man named Caleb claims that he inherited the store from his uncle. But more is afoot than at first appears, and Caleb and Melanie's uncle's deaths may not have been of natural causes...

From the very beginning I was drawn by Melanie's plight, nothing seemed to be going her way! But I admired her determination and will to keep trying despite the set backs. There were humorous situations and moments that made me chuckle. I loved getting to know Caleb and Levi, his young son as well as so many of the wonderful, and not-so-wonderful towns people.

There was mystery and action, making the book very hard to put down. I loved how Melanie found a home in the town and made true friends in a new place, something that can be very hard to do. Mrs. Fetterman was such a sweetheart!

The mystery aspect of this book was well done and brought most of the tension, I thought I knew what was going on, but found out later that I was all wrong!

One of my favorite things about this book was how Melanie and Caleb got to know one another and truly become friends, as well as how Melanie was able to relate to Levi.

Overall, this was a terrific read that I will not soon forget, and am already recommending to all my friends :) A truly entertaining and engaging adventure!
