Review:
Engaging and intense from the very beginning, I couldn't help but be completely swept into a world full of intrigue and suspense as the Lang descendants fight for their birthright, trying to keep one step ahead of those who would stand in their way.
This was a wholly engrossing read, I didn't want to put it down because I just had to know what would happen next. I liked how it kept me guessing while they uncovered pieces to unravel the mystery. I loved getting to know each of the present day characters as they reconnected with their heritage, revealing secrets from the past.
Overall, I was so impressed with this book. I went into it not sure what to expect and how it would function as written by 4 authors. But it blew me away, and I thought it was brilliant how all the different parts of the story were blended together into a whole, rather than separately into shorter interconnected stories as had thought it might be. A well developed plot, with captivating characters, excellent pacing and flawless execution. I loved how it blended suspense with a historical twist, two of my favorite genres, in this exciting intrigue filled adventure. A satisfying read, with excellent relationship building, a twisting plot, and many surprises along the way. Highly recommend!

After graduating from Brigham Young University, she worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for several years, eventually resigning in order to raise her family. She credits the CIA with giving her a wealth of ideas as well as the skills needed to survive her children's teenage years. She loves to travel and enjoys coaching her local high school swim team. She has written more than thirty bestselling novels and is a seven-time Whitney Award winner, including 2017 and 2019 Best Novel of the Year.

Sian Ann Bessey was born in Cambridge, England, but grew up on the island of Anglesey off the coast of North Wales. She left her homeland to attend Brigham Young University in Utah, where she earned a bachelor's degree in communications with a minor in English.
She began her writing career as a college student, publishing several articles in the New Era, Ensign, and Liahona magazines. Since then she has published historical romance and romantic suspense novels, along with a variety of children's books. She is a USA Today best-selling author, a Foreword Reviews Book of the Year finalist, and a Whitney Award finalist.
Sian and her husband, Kent, are the parents of five children and the grandparents of three beautiful girls and two handsome boys. She does, however, think they had the right idea when they rationed nylon and women went barelegged.
