Chloe and the Closet of Secrets: A Book About Lying by Ginger Hubbard and Al Roland, illustrated by Veronika Kotyk // Review

Review:

A whimsical picture book about the very real problem of lying.

Written and formatted well for the target age group of 4-7 years old, I liked the colorful illustrations and the imaginative way that the story was told. The rhyming cadence was fun and sing-song, in a way that reminded me a little of Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Overall, this was a enjoyable book, written in a way that is fun, but also shows the gravity of lies, and points to only source of freedom from lies and lying. I think that this book would be a great way to start a conversation, and it also has some ideas and resources included in the back. An excellent book to share with the young person in your life.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
