Patterns of Evidence: Exodus ~ DVD Review

My Review:

In this documentary style exploration of the 2nd book of the Bible narrated by Kevin Sorbo, Timothy Mahoney digs deep, interviewing some very well known faces in research and also in today's politics. This was a riveting documentary, that was very well done. I loved how he went to great lengths to show how a restructured timeline fits perfectly with history and the landscape of the land before and after the Israelite's inhabited it.

I loved the way that it was put together, splitting the major time periods into 4 sequential parts that would definitely leave behind evidence.

I've been very interested in Egyptian timelines for a long time, and have heard this proposed shift in the timeline from some other sources in the recent past, so this wasn't entirely new to me, but much of the supporting evidence fresh and intriguing.

This was a very well done production, and I would definitely recommend it to any who is even the slightest bit curious. It is so well done and thoroughly researched, I feel that they made a very strong case for their timeline, and I loved the way it was presented, with all the stunning footage and great content.

This new edition of the film includes a full disc of bonus features, featuring cast interviews & bios, well as a look at the music, and what you can do to host a movie event.

Tim produced numerous productions for Christian organizations including the Billy Graham Association, World Wide Pictures, and Compassion International. Tim also served as the President of the board for the International Christian Visual Media Association (ICVM). Tim’s first full feature documentary film, “PATTERNS OF EVIDENCE: THE EXODUS”, released in January 2015. The film took 12 years to develop and takes a scientific approach to investigate the events of the biblical Exodus. The Biggest Story by Kevin DeYoung CD and DVD ~ Review+Giveaway

My Review:

A while back I reviewed a book called The Biggest Story and if you are interested you can read the review HERE.

Well, anyway, I absolutely LOVED it, and so when I found out that it was coming out in both audio and dvd format I knew I couldn't pass up an opportunity to promote such wonderful resources. In the audio version the story is read by the author, with a soundtrack in the background, and you can listen wherever you go as the story comes to life.

My favorite was the DVD, because there the vivid illustrations by Don Clark come to life, in brilliant colors unfolding along to Mr. DeYoung's narration. This wonderful book starts in Genesis and goes all the way through to Revelation, showing our need for a Savior, pointing to a Jesus Christ and how he fills the roles of prophet, warrior, and king.

Overall, this is fantastic media, great for all ages it shows our need for a Savior who is the ultimate Snakecrusher who conquered death once and for all. The DVD and audio would make a great gift, or would be fantastic resources for children's ministry, I cannot recommend these products enough--probably the best book book marketed towards children that I have read all year! An absolutely stunning production, I highly recommend!

Unstoppable Movie by Kirk Cameron ~ Review, Blog Tour & Giveaway

My Review:

Kirk Cameron uses the scripture to illustrate God's providences and power in the wake of loss and suffering. From creation and through the book of Genesis, Mr. Cameron takes the viewer through many of God's promises, as well as the rich foundation of our faith.

The movie was well done with artistic re-enactments and representations, all the while being narrated by Mr. Cameron who spoke in an enthusiastic conversational way.

This movie illustrates God's Unstoppable will, and how even through the tough times, and the pain of this world God is working out His powerful Unstoppable plan.

A great movie, with a powerful message.

King's Faith Movie Review and Giveaway!!!!

My Review:
 Brendan King has lived a hard life, running with a rough crowd, being bounced from foster home to foster home. But he found a faith that turned his life around while spending time in the juvenile penitentiary.
Fresh out of prison he finds hope and security in a new foster home and friends that share his beliefs, but his ties to the past threaten to drag him down, especially when it begins to threaten the lives of those he loves.

King's Faith is a fantastic film, with a compelling plot, and many talented actors. I've seen a lot of Christian films, and sadly I couldn't always in good faith recommend them, but King's Faith is completely different. It has a strong message of faith that strikes a perfect balance in that it isn't overly preachy, yet it wasn't flimsy in its message in a Hallmark card kinda way like other films have been. King's Faith conveyed a strong message of faith, that fit perfectly into the setting and plot.

This movie is honestly the best Christian movie I have seen in a long time, the storytelling was inspiring, compelling, and powerful, this is a movie that I could rewatch multiple times because it was just so well done from the story, and filming, to the fantastic actors.

The reason that this movie is rated PG-13 is because of three scenes of violence. The opening scene shows a blurry flashback of Brendan's old life and how he watched a friend die in his own blood. And two scenes where a gun is waved around a in a forcefully threatening manner. There wasn't any swearing or innuendoes, or sex. But because of the violent scenes parents should let their kids watch this only with discretion, because it may not be good for younger children.

Overall though, I give this movie a full 5 stars, and would heartily recommend it to anyone who will listen! This movie well so well done, and I was engaged from the very start of it. Absolutely excellent!

Awesome Science: Explore Yellowstone with Noah Justice DVD ~ Review

My Review: Take a trip through Yellowstone National Park, with Noah Justice!

Awesome Science is the new DVD Creation series from Master Books, that takes you on a tour through some of the most famous natural attractions in the United States.

This DVD was 30 minutes long and packed with fun facts about Yellowstone all without the theory of evolution! Filled with beautiful cinematography, and straightforward explanations  for the formation of some of God's most amazing natural wonders.

Awesome Science is a creation video targeted for a younger audience, but would make a great family time pastime. Everyone will learn something new along the way!

I enjoyed how well this video was put together, the graphics and effects were well executed. Every time I watch a Creation video or read a book, I can't help but be in awe of God's glorious creation! What I found most fascinating was learning about the formation of the petrified ridge in Yellowstone--I don't even remember seeing it when I was there! But it was so cool learning about how even things that you wouldn't even think about that much all point to a Biblical flood and Creation.

Overall, it was a fun video, a bit short for my taste, but I can see where lots of kids have short attention spans ;) This is a DVD series that you can feel great about letting your kids watch, because there are no millions of years! A well put together series, that I would recommend highly to families with children aged 6-13!
