A Noble Groom by Jody Hedlund ~ Review & Giveaway

A Noble Groom
My Review: I was genuinely swept away by this marvelous story, as the characters captured my heart!

Annalisa finds herself widowed, with her only option being to marry a man that her father chooses for her. But when a mysteriously dashing man who calls himself Carl Richards comes into her and her daughter's lives, challenging her preconceptions about men in general, will she find A Noble Groom in Carl before her mail-order groom arrives?

I fell in love with the characters of Ms. Hedlund's wonderful new novel! From the very beginning I was engrossed in Annalisa's predicament, because I had connected with her almost instantly. Annalisa was a terrific heroine, with a strength and determination about her that made her admirable, but down-to-earth at the same time.

And Carl was amazing, and I loved it wasn't just his interaction with Annalisa that made me love him but the way he was kind to her children as well. Gretchen was so cute!

The plot was compelling and engaging, I had a hard time putting this one down. I loved how genuine the many relationships were in this book, and how they grew honestly and realistically.

Overall, this was a fantastic book, that showed the harsh prairie life, and definitely explored a full range of emotions. I have a feeling that this one is going to be a favorite of 2013 :) Definitely a book that I heartily recommend!

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

  1. I think a hero is a man of bravery, integrity, discipline, humility, and kindness, acquired from his walk with Christ :-)
And it helps if he has a sense of humor. Laughter is good.

  4. In a hero I like a man who is loves God, loves others, and follows the Golden Rule. He doesn't have to be perfect, but he should be striving to be the best that he can be. He also should be someone that is fun to be with and has a good sense of humor.

  7. This sounds like a good book, one I will enjoy reading. I think a hero is someone who goes beyond the norm to help someone - someone who takes risks to accomplish a task, and definitely would like a hero who believes in God and lives his life according to God's Word!

    Thank you and blessings,
    Lori

  11. What do I like in a hero? A man who has integrity, a close relationship with God, is kind, has a sense of humor without being crude, is manly but can still be gentle when needed. Being handsome as well would be a bonus!
Thanks for the giveaway. This looks like a great book.

  12. I guess I am still a bit young and idealistic because I like book heroes that are the strong, intelligent, dangerous, responsible/take their duty seriously, and true leaders. They don't have to be exceptionally good-looking if they have those qualities. So, like I said, I am probably just young and idealistic...

Hmm, what I like most in a hero .... someone who respects and cares for the heroine, someone who always tries his best, and most importantly someone who follows God with all his heart. =) Thanks for the chance to win!
