Lucie's Review:
Matt Tucker, a strong and courageous mountain man, comes barreling down the mountain while being chased by a bear, collides into Shannon Masterson. Though she is dressed like one--Shannon is definitely not a man.
Shannon pushes them both off of a cliff to save them from the bear, but what she doesn't know is that she has just plunged them in the most treacherous stretch of Slaughter River.
Will they survive this unexpected adventure, and find something equally as unexpected along the way.
Over the course of the adventure, Tucker and Shannon are forced to work together to find their way out. Tucker is ever the gentleman, despite his gruff exterior. There was great dialogue between the characters as well as as the wonderful side characters introduced, like Sunrise. Sunrise is an Indian woman who was once married to a mountain man who was never home, and life with him was often a lonely one.
Overall, this is a terrific read, fast paced, and humor-filled, it makes for an adventure that you won't want to put down. Excellent to the end, you'll want to hold onto your seat for this one!
