Lucie's Review:
I'm a huge fan of the Charity House series so when this book appeared in my to-read pile, I just couldn't wait to read it! In fact I read it so fast, and enjoyed it so much that I immediately read it a second time through, and it was just as good the second time through.
Fanny and Jonathon work together at the Hotel Dupree, and they quickly find kindred spirits in each other, though they are both hesitant to become more that because of their pasts.
Mrs. Singletary is up to her old matchmaking tricks again, and is hosting her annual charity ball. At the ball when Jonathon's cufflink gets caught in Fanny's hair they are seen, in what many assume to be an intimate embrace, leading to assaults on Fanny's character.
Jonathon offers to marry her to save her reputation, but she refuses. Will they find love after all?
I liked Jonathon he is a a strong man, honorable, and of integrity. He is very much a self made man, and has worked hard for what he has.
Overall, this was a terrific read, I loved the setting, side characters, and how they encouraged Jonathon and Fanny in their faith. I loved the fast paced storyline and riveting characters. Filled with humor, romance, and heart string tugging moments, sure to capture your heart.
