Lucie Review:
Grab your hat, pull on your boots, and get ready for 4 phenomenal tales of love and laughter.
Marietta Hawkins is a strong woman, who knows what she wants and who she wants, and decides to do something about it.
Daniel Barrett, is a man of his word, trying to make a living and escape his past as a fabled bounty hunter.
Will Marietta's Husband Maneuver succeed?
If you read Ms. Witemeyer's last novel, then you are sure to love this novella about Marietta and Dan! I was so excited to finally get to read their story, and was absolutely thrilled to get the chance to review this book. I loved how each chapter began with an excerpt from Dead-Eye Dan's adventures. It was a fast paced read, and engaging from the very first. I loved reuniting with Marietta and Dan, getting to know them better, as they find that what they both want may have been right in front of them the whole time.
He walked away once, and even though Josiah's grown up a lot, Katie Ellen doesn't welcome his help upon his return. When Josiah and Katie are stranded with a stranger, Josiah comes up with a plan to save her reputation. Will Josiah find a way to regain Katie's trust, and gain her love?
I liked Josiah and how he recognizes that his actions in the past were not right, and he is doing his best to make it up to her and show her that he has changed and grown up. A great story about second chances.
Big John Conroy finally get's his story told in Runaway Bride, he's been a supporting character in other books so I was thrilled to find his story in this collection. Big John offers his help to Carrie Halsey and her brother Isaac when he meets them on their way out of town, trying to escape an arranged marriage.
A fun-filled adventure, filled with laughter, I loved reconnecting with characters from the Trouble in Texas Series, as well as getting to see John and Carrie grow in their friendship. I liked how supportive and encouraging John was of Carrie, he helped her see that she was stronger than she thought she was, and I liked how they came to think differently about each other over the course of the book. And the ending was fantastic! But I can't tell you about that, so you'll just have to read the book!
Charlotte "Charlie" Andrews isn't like the other girls, she is more comfortable working with horses than at a tea party. She loves the land and doesn't want to move her mother, who is growing more confused, and will do anything to save her family's ranch, even marrying a man she barely knows and doesn't love.
Harrison is a smart teacher, and a great guy but he needs some help with his class since his glasses broke, so Charlie volunteers to help him.
Will Charlie find love or marry for convenience?
A fantastic read, all of the novellas were engaging, fast-paced, humorous, with strong heroines, great dialog, and plenty of adventure. I would definitely recommend picking up this book!
