Lucie's Review:
Boone Wilder isn't too excited about his newest job. He isn't a babysitter, and he is far from thrilled to be tasked with protecting city girl, Kayla Stanford. But as he begins to realize that there is more to the job than he has been told, and as things escalate Boone is forced to bring her home to Martin's Crossing.
Kayla is the Martin's half-sister, she often breezes in and out of their lives, but they always welcome her with open arms, and accept her for who she is. Kayla isn't sure what she wants any more, and as the gravity of her situation sinks in, she begins to wonder if there is another plan bier than what she plotted for herself.
I loved Boone's family, he has 6 siblings at home, and his parents are more than willing to welcome one more. The twins especially love having Kayla around for her sense of fashion. His mother, Maria, also quickly takes her under her wing.
Boone is a strong man, of deep commitment, faith, and dedication. I loved his interactions with Kayla, and how his attitude towards Kayla changes throughout the book as does her perspective on her life. This is a fast paced read filled with adventure, mystery, and suspense, and nearly impossible to put down. You won't want to miss this!
