Lucie's Review:
Grace is a young woman starting over in America, after some dreadful experiences in Ireland. Grace faces many challenges, and makes new friends, along with finding herself tangled up with criminals quite by accident.
Will Grace have the courage to trust those who reach out the help her?
To be honest this book was slow to start, but I could tell right away that there was a lot of research put into this book and I loved how much I learned about brownie cameras, and the police of that era. The little details were the things that really brought this story bursting to life.
Grace was a character that was easy to sympathize with, and I loved her passion for taking pictures. Owen, was noble and admirable, he truly wanted to make a difference even when at times it seems small. Owen and Grace didn't really get that much time within the book to get to know each other, so it wasn't exactly a romance, but more of a tale of two people finding their way.
Overall, this was book that started slow, but ended with a bang. I loved the wonderful little details that made this story great. The only thing I would say is that perhaps that the book could have been shorter without losing any of the main story elements. Both of the characters grew in their faith and learned along the way, this was a kind of "finding your way" story.
I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
