Courting Cate by Leslie Gould ~ Review and Litfuse Blog Tour

Courting Cate

My Review: What an exciting and riveting read!

From the very first page I knew that I would love this book, and I did! I loved how I got to see the story through Cate's eyes, through the first person story-telling. First person is hard to pull off, but Ms. Gould did it perfectl, mixing humor, and depth to Cate's character, to the point where I felt like I knew her well, even thogh those around her didn't.

I really loved the characters, and could definitely see why Cate had plenty of reasons to be more than a little suspicious of her sister and those around her. Cate was an excellent main character, who made me feel for her and drew me into the story to the point where I felt like I right there with her and was loathe to put the book down because I wanted to know what would happen next!

Ms. Gould represented Amish life well, and I liked how she chose to portray a more modern Amish family than is usually featured in Christian Fiction, and I came away feeling like I'd seen another side of the Amish.

Overall, if you love Amish books, or if you don't, Courting Cate is a highly enjoyable read, full of humor and wit. I absolutely fell in love with many of the characters, and loved Cate's somewhat interesting predicament! This is a book that I would highly recommend!

I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!

About the Book:
When This Couple Gets to Courting, Sparks Will Fly!
In Paradise, Pennsylvania, Cate Miller is known more for her sharp tongue and fiery temper than her striking appearance. Her sweet and flirty sister, Betsy, on the other hand, seems to have attracted most of the bachelors in Lancaster County!

But the sisters' wealthy father has made one hard-and-fast rule: older Cate must marry first, before younger Betsy can even start courting. Unfortunately, untamable Cate has driven away every suitor-until Pete Treger comes to town, that is.
Prodded by the men of the area, Pete turns his attention to winning Cate's hand. But is his interest true or is there a scheme at play?

Book 1 in The Courtships of Lancaster County series.
