    1. There was certainly a lot of evil plotting going on! And all of the political drama was actually really fascinating back then, things could flip from one way to the other rather quickly!

      Thanks :)

    1. They were definitely fascinating people! I think one of the most fascinating things that we see displayed in the Tudors is their humanity, and how they were far from perfect.

      Thanks!

  3. In total, five Tudor monarchs ruled their domains for just over a century. Henry VIII of England was the only male-line male heir of Henry VII to live to the age of maturity. Issues around the Royal succession (including marriage and the succession rights of women) became major political themes during the Tudor era. The House of Stuart came to power in 1603 when the Tudor line failed, as Elizabeth I died without issue. The Tudor rulers disliked the term "Tudor" (because the first Tudor was low-born), and it was not much used before the late 18th century.

This is interesting and so much more about this family line. I bet it would make fascinating reading to experience and get a peek into this dysfunctional family and how the royals lived.

    Thanks for this giveaway opportunity!

    1. Yes, Royals are interesting, aren't they? Living so much of their lives in the public eye. In such a short time, so many things changed in England!

      Thanks

  6. Hmm...I think it's hard not to be fascinated with everything about the Tudor's and that era of time. I've always thought it was crazy the way that the monarchs were allowed to get away with so much for the sake of sovereignty.

I'd love to be entered in the giveaway. I so enjoyed To Die For & can't wait to read this one!

    1. Yes, they had way to much power, and they used it often, sometimes even changing their minds! I think It must have been terribly hard to live during that time not knowing if what you were doing might illegal tomorrow!

      Thanks!

What do I find fascinating about the Tudors? Goodness, so many things! The family politics, the precious balance between personal and public life, the swinging pendulum of their religious affiliations (I mean, really, Henry split with the pope and started the Anglican church, Edward was a proponent of Protestantism, Bloody Mary, well, 'nuff said, and then along comes Elizabeth!). I'm actually writing a novel now based in the Elizabethan era. :) Great fun!

Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity (and the chance to rant!)!

  17. I dont know much about the Tudors, so I couldn't really say something that really fascinates me about them. But I have always been interested in this time period. I just finished taking a Western Civilization 1 test, and I study tons of kings, and things that happened from accent times to the 1600's. (It was a SUPER hard test to say the lest.)

Anyway, this book looks SO good. I am really looking forward to reading it.
